Yamaki Acoustic Guitars

Posted on September 10, 2016 in betting baseball

Were I unable to use that one, then I’d not be able or likely to find another photo so comparable. The sound board on the Yamaki Deluxe model is clearly Western Red Cedar, and that is what my Uncle Tom’s Yamaki flat top guitar features as a sound board.

The Yamaki acoustic guitar that my Uncle Thomas owns would more be a “super Deluxe” or something, it’s a more decorated model than the Yamaki deluxe in the very fine photo above. In time I’d like to get a good shot of my Uncle Thomas’ Yamaki Acoustic guitar. Here’s what I know for certain – I like Yamaha acoustic guitars, and I consider them to be fine guitars, and especially if you buy one of their solid tonewood construction L series guitars – but I’m positive that the Yamaki guitar that I played this past week was better than any Yamaha acoustic guitar that I’ve ever seen or played, in fact, it was a very comparable guitar in quality to the Alvarez acoustic guitar that I fell in love with once at the North Texas Guitar Centre – but a more expensive or fancier guitar.. From the looks of the thing – I’m betting a thousand to one that it’s a solid spruce soundboard, a hallmark of a great acoustic guitar.

Yamaki Acoustic Guitars.

If you recall that I mentioned something about having two uncles with Yamaki acoustic guitars – that’s correct. The other one I’d seen once belonged to my grandfather, and I nearly bought it from him at one point. Those three companies are the three major companies in Japan that have been and still are making acoustic guitars. Very Fine And Rare Instruments.

When talking about Japanese made acoustic guitars people tend to think of Yamaha, Takamine, and Alvarez as being the major brands of acoustic guitars that are made in Japan.

If you know guitars and you look at that picture of a Yamaki acoustic guitar up above, then it’s clear that that guitar is a copy of a Martin D 18. But there is also a pretty rare brand of guitar out there that you might run into, and that is the Yamaki brand of acoustic guitar. If you do see one, and it’s in playable or repairable condition at all, then I seriously suggest that you buy that guitar if you are financially able to.

The Yamaki Deluxe Acoustic Guitar.

Now – looking at the fine photo above we see an example of the Yamaki acoustic guitar model called “The Yamaki Deluxe.” This guitar more resembles my Uncle Tom’s guitar than does the other photo, and the reason for this is that the sound board of this guitar is clearly a different wood than is the spruce sound board in the top photo. The thing that is MOST clear from that photo is that the guitar features a spruce soundboard. My uncle James owns one as well, and that would be the one that my grandfather used to own. I very much liked both of them. I became acquainted with one just this last week, and couldn’t have possibly been more impressed with that guitar. Hell, if I owned a digital camera I’d certainly do that right away for this hub.

I can’t speak for how truthful or accurate this next thing is, but the story that I was told was that the way that Yamaki was displayed on the head stocks of their acoustic guitars looked so similar to how Yamaha was displayed on the head stocks of their guitars that Yamaha sued, and had the Yamaki company to change things. The sticker that should be visible inside the sound hole of his guitar is absent – but Uncle Tom’s Yamaki flat top has abalone inlay up the fingerboard the likes of which would be seen on a Martin D-42, or a Martin D 45.

I’ve seen exactly two of these guitars ever. I’ve not seen that guitar in years – I hope that cleared up any confusion that I might have created.. You can’t really know how good a quality that guitar is from the picture – you don’t and can’t know whether or not it’s a solid wood construction guitar or not, but I’m betting that that is exactly what it is. Basically, the two Yamaki acoustics that I’ve had my hands on both belong to Uncles of mine, and one of those uncles at one point or another had owned both of them.

Yamaki Acoustic Guitars.

I’m sticking to the full sized photo above – because it’s such a beautiful photo

Tyson Foods To Reach Moms Through Bull Riding Advertising

Posted on in football betting

Campbell TV commercials showcase moms of famous players.

“It’s funny,” Muirheid told ABC News. “Our TV ratings are skewing higher on the female side.”

Sara Muirheid, director of sales, marketing and broadcast properties for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), has numbers that back up PBR’s: Rodeos have a fan base of 31 million, she said. “To maximize sales, you want to connect with both the purchaser as well as the purchase-influencer.”

Yes, but how about for non-tough-guy moms?

Through bull riding, Tyson said it hopes to reach moms much the same way Campbell Soup has reached them through Campbell’s partnership with the National Football League. This is not a rodeo. Lauderdale, sees the PBR-Tyson matchup as a marriage made in heaven. This is bull riding, and the first rule is just to stay alive.”

Turns out he’s right.

Becher explained why the link-up makes sense, whether or not mom is bull-crazy. Of those, 5.5 million attend in person and exactly half of those attendees are women.

The company has agreed to be a sponsor of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) championships later this month in Las Vegas, including a bull-riding fan expo at Mandalay Bay Resort.

Meaning: Even if mom couldn’t give a hoof about bull riding, her son or husband might, and, to keep that influencer happy, she might buy him Tyson.

Of the attendees, 63 percent are between the ages of 25 and 54, according to the PRCA, which sounds an awful lot like mom-country.

There are?

PBR’s own description of bull riding begins, “Buckle up. According to market research commissioned by PBR, some 25 million fans follow bull riding. Asked what might be the appeal of bull riding to women, let alone moms, Denise Abbott, a spokesman for PBR, noted that PBR’s market research didn’t ask fans, male or female, why they like the sport.

“Mom and her family are the focal point of our Tyson-branded advertising, messaging and product innovation,” Tyson spokesman Worth Sparkman said in a statement, “and there are a lot of moms who watch PBR events.”

Tyson Foods has found a novel way to reach America’s moms: through bull riding.

Scott Becher, an expert on sports sponsorship and managing director of Z Sports and Entertainment, a division of Zimmerman Advertising in Ft. We don’t rope calves, and we don’t chase barrels. Of those, 43 percent are women. “Tough-guy food for a tough-guy sport,” he called it.. “The name of the game is incremental sales at retail,” he said

Weight Training for Wrestling by Dickie White

Posted on in betting baseball

Yes, those YouTube videos of someone performing a cool looking exercise with a big tire look cool. In addition, Tom used similar types of programs for the 10+ years he was at Cornell working with the wrestlers. While there are some similarities, football players should be more focused on developing absolute strength, whereas wrestlers should focus their weight training on relative strength and power (strength per bodyweight).

Incline Bench- 4×8

Weighted Pullups- 3×10

Deadlift- 5×5

Day 2 Weight Training for Wrestling

As the sport of wrestling continues to grow (with at least some thanks going to the increasing popularity of MMA), weight training for wrestling has become a very sought after. “Hardcore” equipment like this exists at underground gyms and training facilities and if you’re a member of one of those, there’s a good chance you already have someone helping you with your training. would be using them already? Anyway, that’s enough, lets get into some weight training for wrestling plans.

Alternate Dumbbell Bench- 3×10

Day 3 Weight Training for Wrestling

Day 1 Weight Training for Wrestling

Superset- Squat 4×8 and Dumbbell Walking Lunge 3×8

Power Clean- 5×4

Power Clean- 5×4

Deadlift- 5×5

Superset- Bench Press 4×8 and Med Ball Pushups 3×8

Squat- 5×3

Cable Row- 3×10

Please note that Tom bases all of his core movements (Squat, Bench, Clean, Deadlift, etc.) off of percentages of your max. But believe me, this isn’t the focus of the weight training for wrestling plans I have my wrestlers use. There are two major issues that I’ve seen with weight training for wrestling programs in my years of experience.. These percentages and 2 more weeks of this program are included as one of 4 free gifts for signing up for my newsletter at http://www.wrestler-power.com

Bicep Curls- 3×10

Weighted Pullups- 3×10

Bicep Curls- 3×10

Dumbbell Incline Bench- 4×8

First, a great majority, especially those at the collegiate level, are basically offshoots of the football weight training program. This is the exact program he used over the summer of 2009, the summer before Cornell placed 2nd at Nationals and had 2 National Finalists. As wrestlers we know the truth- nothing replaces good old fashioned hard work. And that should be the same way you approach yourweight training for wrestling. While I do believe that these are great ways to bridge the gap between traditional weight room strength and functional wrestling strength (I use them myself often with my wrestlers), I also understand that a majority of wrestlers reading this article do not have access to this type of equipment. Additionally, I think it’s worth considering the fact that if these new age styles of training were so groundbreaking and effective, don’t you think all the big wrestling schools like Iowa, Cornell, Iowa State, etc. So for those of you who aren’t fortunate to workout at a well-equipped hardcore gym, keep reading, I have some great news for you…

The other day I was fortunate enough to have former Cornell Wrestling Strength Coach, Tom Dilliplane, send me a copy of his 16-week summer program. While some would say the program looked boring and repetitive (you would not believe the repetition of such exercises as the Bench Press, Squats, High Pulls, Weighted Pullups, and other exercises that many may consider to be plain and boring but obviously get the job done) the fact of the matter is this- it works. However these weight training for wrestling plans consist of exercises with sandbags, kettlebells, tires, kegs, thick reps, and a lot of other training tools that most wrestler don’t have access to. Look at all the infomercials out there for the “next biggest thing in fat loss” or whatever. Oftentimes people are after the next greatest thing. Sticking to the tried and true barbell and dumbbell exercises that have withstood the test of time is what’s going to lead to the best results with your weight training for wrestling plan. Weight Training for Wrestling Workout (first week in Tom’s Summer Program)

Dips- 3×10

Day 4 Weight Training for Wrestling

Cable Row- 3×10

Bench Press- 5×3

Tricep Kickbacks- 3×10

Superset- Cuban Press 3×12 and Tricep Kickbacks 3×10

Second, there are a few systems and programs that are available that are absolutely fantastic. I know, I post them from time to time

Additionally, it’s important to note that sports arbitrage has always seen compounding rates between one to five percent, even during the market’s worst times. Can you say the same for traditional investments in the stock market?

. As the typical trade in sports arbitrage sees a compounding rate between one to five percent, this means that investors can quickly generate the kind of income that quickly outstrips their primary salary. The generous income that both new and experienced investors see in sports arbitrage derives from the compounding rate of the trades. Welcome to the world of sports arbitrage!

How to prevent a depression

Posted on September 6, 2016 in gambling gambling advice

Official resources need to be tripled – through a larger European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF), Eurobonds, or massive ECB action – to avoid a disastrous run on these sovereigns.

Fifth, debt burdens that cannot be eased by growth, savings, or inflation must be rendered sustainable through orderly debt restructuring, debt reduction, and conversion of debt into equity. Infrastructure banks that finance needed public infrastructure should be created as well.

Fourth, large-scale liquidity provision for solvent governments is necessary to avoid a spike in spreads and loss of market access that would turn illiquidity into insolvency. The European Central Bank should reverse its mistaken decision to hike interest rates. And, without a rapid return to growth, more defaults – and social turmoil – cannot be avoided.. Instead, the advanced economies need a medium-term plan to restore competitiveness and jobs via massive new investments in high-quality education, job training and human-capital improvements, infrastructure, and alternative/renewable energy. This needs to be carried out for insolvent governments, households, and financial institutions alike.

Eighth, emerging-market economies have more policy tools left than advanced economies do, and they should ease monetary and fiscal policy. So, what can be done to minimize the fallout of another economic contraction and prevent a deeper depression and financial meltdown?

·         A sharp weakening of the euro towards parity with the US dollar, which is unlikely, as the US is weak, too.

First, we must accept that austerity measures, necessary to avoid a fiscal train wreck, have recessionary effects on output. The risks of an economic and financial crisis even worse than the previous one – now involving not just the private sector, but also near-insolvent sovereigns – are significant. Only a return to a national currency – and a sharp depreciation of that currency – can restore competitiveness and growth.

This piece originally appeared on Project Syndicate. Inflation will soon be the last problem that central banks will fear, as renewed slack in goods, labor, real estate, and commodity markets feeds disinflationary pressures.

Today, Spain and Italy are at risk of losing market access. The balance-sheet effects on euro debts caused by the depreciation of the new national currency would thus have to be handled through an orderly and negotiated conversion of euro liabilities into the new national currencies. Appropriate use of official resources, including for recapitalization of eurozone banks, would be needed to limit collateral damage and contagion.

AMSTERDAM – The latest economic data suggests that recession is returning to most advanced economies, with financial markets now reaching levels of stress unseen since the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. And countries, like China, that rely excessively on net exports for growth should accelerate reforms, including more rapid currency appreciation, in order to boost domestic demand and consumption.

Sixth, even if Greece and other peripheral eurozone countries are given significant debt relief, economic growth will not resume until competitiveness is restored. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank can serve as lender of last resort to emerging markets at risk of losing market access, conditional on appropriate policy reforms. So, if countries in the eurozone’s periphery are forced to undertake fiscal austerity, countries able to provide short-term stimulus should do so and postpone their own austerity efforts. Wrong-headed policies during the first Great Depression led to trade and currency wars, disorderly debt defaults, deflation, rising income and wealth inequality, poverty, desperation, and social and political instability that eventually led to the rise of authoritarian regimes and World War II. Even with policy changes, it takes time for governments to restore their credibility. The best way to avoid the risk of repeating such a sequence is bold and aggressive global policy action now.

There are three options for restoring competitiveness within the eurozone, all requiring a real depreciation – and none of which is viable:

Leaving the common currency would, of course, threaten collateral damage for the exiting country and raise the risk of contagion for other weak eurozone members. Also, since the US and EU financial systems remain unlikely to provide credit to small and medium-size enterprises, direct government provision of credit to solvent but illiquid SMEs is essential.

Photo: A man walks past a display board of a currency exchange office in Bucharest August 19, 2011. Only such a program can provide workers in advanced economies with the tools needed to compete globally.

·         A five-year cumulative 30% deflation in prices and wages – in Greece, for example – which would mean five years of deepening and socially unacceptable depression; even if feasible, this amount of deflation would exacerbate insolvency, given a 30% increase in the real value of debt.

Second, while monetary policy has limited impact when the problems are excessive debt and insolvency rather than illiquidity, credit easing, rather than just quantitative easing, can be helpful. More monetary and credit easing is also required for the US Federal Reserve, the Bank of Japan, the Bank of England, and the Swiss National Bank. European shares extended the previous session’s sharp sell-off on Friday on deepening worries over slowing global economic growth and the region’s banks facing short-term funding stress because of the euro zone’s sovereign debt crisis. REUTERS/Bogdan Cristel

By Nouriel Roubini

The opinions expressed are his own.

Because these options cannot work, the sole alternative is an exit from the eurozone by Greece and some other current members. To avoid an additional credit crunch as banks deleverage, banks should be given some short-term forbearance on capital and liquidity requirements. These countries include the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the core of the eurozone, and Japan.

Seventh, the reasons for advanced economies’ high unemployment and anemic growth are structural, including the rise of competitive emerging markets. Until then, markets will keep pressure on sovereign spreads, making a self-fulfilling crisis likely.

·         A rapid reduction in unit labor costs, via acceleration of structural reform and productivity growth relative to wage growth, is also unlikely, as that process took 15 years to restore competitiveness to Germany.

Third, to restore credit growth, eurozone banks and banking systems that are under-capitalized should be strengthened with public financing in a European Union-wide program. The appropriate response to such massive changes is not protectionism.

The risks ahead are not just of a mild double-dip recession, but of a severe contraction that could turn into Great Depression II, especially if the eurozone crisis becomes disorderly and leads to a global financial meltdown

Compulsive Gambling Leaves a Trail of Destruction

Posted on September 5, 2016 in gambling gambling advice

Money enables the gambler to “stay in the action,” a gambling term for active betting. This is not something I should have to worry about with people who earned a good living during their work lives. They spend their lives trying to cover their tracks. We figured it out because my father had tripped himself up by trying to cover his tracks. Any adult child of a compulsive gambler who thinks they will see any type of inheritance is fooling themselves.

It’s Not Just The Betting

A gambler’s true addiction is money. They make financial decisions based on how much money they can hoard for gambling. If it had not been for my quick thinking, they would have lost everything. They view money as something to play with, almost like Monopoly money. He has no savings, and he is too old to make up for lost time. He had money for expensive vacations, expensive jewelry and nice cars, but paying for his kids college education was out of his reach. In the blink of an eye, more than half was gone. If not for my mother’s pension, they would be out on the street.

Forgiveness Comes…Eventually

My father’s inability to own up to his destructive behavior is a big reason for my current unwillingness to speak to him. My sister and I have struggled for most of our adult lives to build a healthy respect for money. This makes gambling a very tough addiction to break, because like food addictions, the gambler is addicted to something they have to use in everyday life – money.

This is another symptom of the compulsive gambler: Their skewed relationship with money. Gambling is a disease after all, and you can’t blame someone for being sick. Money is slowly siphoned from the source until there is nothing left. The sum total of my father’s income is now a meager Social Security check.

It’s Exhausting For the Family

Almost as Bad as the Gambling…the Lying

When we uncovered my father’s gambling addiction, the devastation to my family unit was irreparable. This was In addition to fudging bank statements so that she didn’t know he was siphoning off their other savings account. Their low self esteem compels them to live like high rollers – and spend on luxuries when they can’t even pay the mortgage. We’ve both finally reached a place of sanity and serenity in our own lives.

Gamblers Can Keep on Going…

The insidious thing about gambling is that a gambler who has access to money can literally support their habit for many years without getting caught. He never saw any reason to purchase any property or make any sound investments. In order to keep their secret they will lie to anyone, spouses, children, parents, coworkers and friends. I also resent all the money that my grandparents left being swallowed up by his disease.

The other part of me resents his obsession with money and being the hot shot while I was growing up. As most adult children of any kind of addict know, it’s not that you actually hate them – that’s too toxic to carry around. They live their lives in a fantasy world where the next big win is right around the corner. It has been almost a year since the truth was revealed, and I am still angry at the waste and the bleak future my parents face as their fixed income slowly becomes inadequate to meet their needs as they get older. Money is what they need to fuel their habit of placing bets, whether it be lotto cards, horse racing or blackjack. . Part of me wonders how he sat down over breakfast every morning with a woman who has taken care of him for 50 years, while he was robbing her blind. As it turned out, my father had helped himself to an annuity my mother had religiously contributed to every month for 25 years during the course of her teaching career. It was money she was counting on to supplement their income when they reached their eighties. Deep down they hate themselves for their habit, but like children, they are unwilling to come clean.

It’s Never Enough

A man who has spent a lifetime telling other people how to invest for emergencies has ended up penniless. He has no assets. I know that I will eventually have to forgive, right now I’m just trying to figure out how to sit in the same room with a parent that I never actually liked or trusted. Gamblers will function quite well as long as they have a ready source of cash, such as a family member or income from a business or investments. His weird relationship with money was passed on to his kids. Gamblers do not think any further ahead than the next bet. It’s a twisted mindset that allows them to blow everything they have while bills go unpaid.

How Do They Live With Themselves?

Even though I know it is a disease and he really can’t help himself, part of me resents him for not being adult enough to seek help sooner. As an adult child I also am suddenly worried about having to support my parents at some point. How does someone live with themselves?

The other insidious thing about problem gamblers or compulsive gamblers is the pathological lying. This inability to plan for the future is another symptom of the disease of compulsive gambling. You just get worn out and tired, just really tired.

Some gamblers do experience big payoffs, but the money is quickly spent on placing more, and bigger bets. He was never generous with money, even though he always had a wad of bills in his pocket. He was a fairly successful insurance man with 50 years in the business, yet when the true extent of his addiction came to light last year, we were dumbfounded. By that time, the damage is done and it is usually irreversible.

Gam-Anon and other organizations preach forgiveness above all else. Any financial relief is out of reach because no matter how much money a gambler can get their hands on, it is never enough to satisfy their insatiable craving for betting.

They Usually End Up Penniless

My father has reached his seventies without saving a penny. I’ve been talking to a disease for most of my life, not a real father
